Fashionista received several panicked texts today, telling us the Kate Moss for TopShop line already has a waiting list! Furthermore, retail analysts and/ or teenagers are saying the collection won’t even hit the internet because it will sell out from stores on the very first day. This is especially insane considering nobody’s seen the collection - except for this dress, from the “secret” British Vogue cover for April.
As a survivor of both the Stella McCartney for H&M craziness and the Proenza Schouler for Target insanity, I’m not as optimistic on these predictions as I’d like - Proenza’s blue bustier blouse was available for maybe 3 hours before being snatched up by everyone, and as for Stella’s bubble trenches, I actually saw a magazine editor stripping one off a mannequin.
Tomorrow morning I will call TopShop about the wait list, and then I’ll let you know.
