Saved!

Claiming a coat can save American fashion may be a bit dramatic, but that’s exactly what Slate did when it heralded Anne Klein’s stadium coat - designed by new director Isabel Toledo - as the new potential of American sportswear.

We think there are several other coats from New York Fashion Week showing that American style may not be in need of saving after all…

Ruffian’s gray heather coat comes to the rescue with a high collar and a slim silhouette. We also like the wide belt, but we’ll admit - we’re not sure if it will look as good when Chanel Iman isn’t in it!

Benjamin Cho’s cropped white jacket would still be a savior without its huge buttons - the short length and wide sleeves will make any girl look modern when paired with slim pants.

Alexandre Herchcovitch’s coat twists its plaid pattern into wide leather gloves and looks great.

Actually, if any coat is going to “save” American sportswear, it’s this one. Thanks, Proenza Schouler.

Zac Posen’s coat saves any girl who can only buy one key piece - throw it over your pajamas and you still look amazing.

Chaiken’s coat is so pretty! It’s so pretty! Oooh! (sorry, but that was exactly our reaction).
