I Left My Bag in San Francisco

This week, San Francisco passed a ban on plastic bags.
If the new law gets approved by the mayor, as expected, then drug stores and supermarkets must replace their current bags with recyclable and/ or biodegradable bags immediately.
Paper Magazine has a pretty thorough story about the new law, explaining how plastic bags pollute oceans and forests, and how they destroy the quality of life for millions of animals (and people) around the world.
Meanwhile, we did a thorough scouring of the internet and found our favorite new reason to ban the plastic bag:
J. Crew’s new Amangasett tote for $49.

Come on – wouldn’t your groceries and shampoo look way cuter getting hauled home in this?

Check out the Shoplifter bag at Citizen-Citizen.com. Less expensive and much cooler.

I don’t like the shape as much, but it’s definitely a great find. Thanks!

i’m in san francisco and applaud this ban! i’ve always carried my own canvas bags to the grocery stores. i even at times have carried bags from clothing stores that i shop at like Hermes or VS. those bags are still good why not reuse as much as possible!
