Gisele and Shalom hit the catwalks in February; now another old-school supermodel is all over TV:
Christy Turlington continues her Maybelline dominance in their new spring commercials, and she’s also toiling behind the scenes on a new TV pilot with husband Ed Burns.
We like Christy’s Maybelline spot because most women who buy makeup aren’t sixteen or seventeen, even though the girls who star in cosmetics ads are often still in high school (well, they would be in high school, if they hadn’t dropped out and become models). Several of Fall’s most well received shows – Marc, Proenza, Dior – were described by critics as “grown up.” Maybe ad campaigns are following suit…
Also: Kate Moss will also return to TV, in a new commercial for Rimmel. Unlike their previous campaigns, she’ll actually speak on camera for this one.
