Calvin Klein's "In2U" campaign isn't the only fragrance hype happening right now for teens: Vera Wang has blitzed Style.com and Flip with an invitation to consult on her "top secret project," related somehow to her Princess fragrance. The move comes after hiring teen actress Camilla Belle to be the perfume's face. From what we hear, this mystery contest will let select girls help shape Vera's next scent, including its bottle shape, associated celebrities, and campaign - a lot like Dooney & Bourke's "It Girl" contest for Teen Vogue, where a crew of art students (including MisShape Leigh Lezark) traveled to Italy to help design D&B bags. Meanwhile, FabSugar reports that "robotic fragrance testers" are now in department stores. This seems like the ideal way to market new scents to younger shoppers - if most of their interactions are through a computer anyway, then a perfume robot should be more effective than those scary women who chase you around, Will & Grace style, and ask if you'd like to smell... whatever.
