Booth Moore is the LA Times style editor, and she was thisclose to buying a Chanel Naked Shopper bag, until she had this realization:

There wasn’t even any quilting. Just clear plastic, a pair of interlocking silver C’s and a cheap-looking chain. I grew angry. The only thing that was clear was that I was the joke and Karl was laughing all the way to the Deutsche bank. I can just hear him saying, “You silly voomuhn.”

There have been a few fashion moments recently where one isn’t sure if they’re laughing with the designer, or just being laughed at - Jeremy Scott’s faux-snickers sweatshirt and Marc’s massive, massively priced hats come to mind.

I would never buy a $900 piece of plastic, I can see the appeal of splurging on one abroad - it makes going through customs so much easier, and with a Double C logo to boot.
