I've been spending some time on Kate Spade's website, but it's not for the bags. She's got a section called Things We Love/ Things You Love that has nothing (and everything) to do with her brand. It's a virtual pile of candy, art, indie bands, and kooky websites that Kate - and her very cool, very cultivated lifestyle - likes best. Things we also like that we spy on her site: red hots, Fellini's 8 1/2 Women, toys from Kid Robot. Club Monaco also has a Favorite Things section, which it updates monthly and emails to its friends and web subscribers. In March, Club Monaco likes the movie Starter for Ten and a San Francisco boite called District. Lots of websites have a section of their favorites, but they're almost all things you can buy on the website (Sephora and Fred Flare are good examples). But it seems Club Monaco and Kate Spade are pushing a new trend of latching onto other brands to help create the image of your own. Let's see if the trend continues; meanwhile, yes, we've been meaning to buy some cashmere, and also to see Starter For Ten.
