Lara Stone Wears Gap

lara gap.jpg Several weeks ago, we reported that Balenciaga muse Marie-Amelie Sauve was designing Gap’s next European line.

Now Portfolio has some photos from the UK runway show, which displayed Marie-Amelie’s first efforts.

Though British Vogue is excited, Portfolio wonders if the modern bubble of knits and neutrals is enough to pull Gap out of the red.

Meanwhile, we wonder something slightly more practical:

If that outfit goes on anyone who isn’t Laura Stone, does it still embody modern, disaffected luxury…

Or is it just there?

Take a look at the photos and let us know if you’d buy it - I’m guessing the prices are between $40 - $100.

The last outfit looks like it has nothing to do with the other 3 looks. Regardless, I wouldn't buy any of these.

The first look is all right, nothing too special. I like the first mens look, actually, with the leather jacket layered over the long cardigan. You don't usually see those layering proportions on guys

I think it's great - I love the layered woolen dresses and the men's cardigans under leather jackets.

I really like the second one, even though I'm kinda ready to leave this grey trend. It seems like it's been going on way too long.

I'm more excited about how they're styled than individual pieces...GAP needs to take a page from UNIQLO and start marketing more "looks" than the "trendy" individual pieces they've been putting out for the past few years...

i think its the clothes, but i also think they'll be much more expensive that $40-$100. probably twice as much with the exchangerate.
