Louboutin Gets Nailed

If anything can bring black nail polish back from the undead, it's the Louboutin Manicure that we spotted on All Lacquered Up.

Invented by Grazia magazine - which is actually British, despite it's Italian name - the manicure combines black polish on the top of your nails with red polish underneath. The effect mimics the most common Christian Louboutin heels, all of which have black leather and scarlet soles.

The downside of this manicure:

It only works with very long nails - and very long, very black nails will look quite Elvira this Spring.

Still, you could always do the manicure with nude nail polish on top and red on the bottom - another common Louboutin combo that's slightly more subtle and very in-season.

FYI This was in the Brit edition of Grazia but UK Grazia was launched off the back of the Italian version... There is also a Dubai / Middle Eastern Grazia.

FYI: this manicure was not invented by Grazia magazine. It is the creation of Zoe Pocock of London's Charles Worthington salon. I appreciate the link to my blog post but I want to make sure proper credit is given.

That is by far the coolest thing I have ever heard of in terms of manicures. I wish I could do very long nails! But I like them short and red...sigh.

Thought I would comment on Kell Will's post about only being able to have long nails for this manicure. I will be honest in saying that the only time I have performed this manicure on long nails was for the famous picture itself. I have performed this Louboutin inspired manicure a hundred times over (and yes I am bored) Lol but I perform it on short nails and have a polish brush which I have cut leaving just three hairs on it. It can be done so go on girls give it a go. Oh and it leaves a slight glow under the nail if you paint the red very slightly on the edge of the nail.
