Through The Looking Glasses

beckerman.JPGAdorable design team and Gen Art superstars the Beckermans ( www.beckermans.com ) have the cutest Ray-Ban-inspired sunglass necklace for summer (and maybe for brightening up winter too?).

It comes in either rhodium/platinum or gold plated with a 24’ chain, and can be worn two ways – with the sunglasses going vertically or horizontally. I love options! But actually my favorite thing about the Beckermans is that the designers are three sisters – twins and their little sis (just like my family!)

For all you Wayfarer fans and Wayfarer naysayers out there – what’s the verdict on this one? Would you wear it?

I could see these on Flavor Flav once he checks into a nursing home and doesn't need to know the time, just needs to find his damn reading glasses. From far away, maybe, up close, just weird.

I would not wear it - too big and too high school for my personal style...which probably means they will end up in teen vogue next month..

Wow, my mom will be thrilled! If this is the new style, then my mom is about three years ahead of the curve.

I think it could be sort of provocative to wear the glasses verically with something loose, something with a low neckline but not too low, so that you actually hide your glasses under your shirt/dress, and pull them out at the right moment.

Fancy eyewear jewelry is totally in! There's a line called La Loop... it's real jewelry with a patented functional loop to keep your eyeglasses secure. They have different designs from gold to silver to stones. You could really just even wear them as a necklace. In San Francisco, SF Optics on Chestnut carries them. You can check them out on their website http://www.sfoptics.com

The Beckermans are amazing, I've bought each of their pieces up until the anchor. There are actually some really amazing Canadian designers & they're definitely some of them!
