First Look: Samantha Francis for Elite

samantha polaroids 3.jpg Jaslene's first composite card is here, but we're more excited about Samantha Francis, the 19-year-old from Alabama who was eliminated second from America's Next Top Model... and still got an Elite Model contract.

We like Samantha's weird spin on the All American Girl look, and there's something else:

If she begins to book jobs that are out of reach for Top Model winners, she'll become the first American model who began her career on television.

With Jennifer Hudson winning an Oscar this year - and Lauren Conrad continuing her streak as a Teen Vogue face - the style industry may need to reconsider their views on reality television.

Although ultimately, that can't happen until a real innovator wins Project Runway... and no designer with incredible talent would be indiscreet enough to go on that show.

Would they?

I still can't believe she got kicked-off the second week. Tyra needs to pull her head out of her ass. Anyway, I hope Samantha does well.

Those eyebrows!

Very pretty, but in the current enviroment of mostly Eastern European and Brazilian girls, she might not make the cut. Good luck to her--someone, ANYONE from that show ought to be a real model by now.

As I remember the problem with her wasn't that she wasn't pretty enough or anything like that, it was just that she was too shy and couldn't really come out of her shell for pictures. It always happens on the show, I think, The ones with the most potential dont want to pose nude and things like that so they get kicked out.

I mean, even here shes pretty but she's making the same face in all the pictures.

Mollie Gondi is actively modeling. I hope Samantha can succeed, but there are a lot of models out there. Good luck to Jaslene, too. I like her as well, though she is shorter.

Sam was pretty, that was not the problem but in the industry sometimes the have to pose in a sexy way and Sam was not prepared to do it, she was not prepared to take direction, the other models were steping up. Thats why Tyra let her go.Just like kathleen who is really pretty, she could not understand or take direction,so they let her go.

But, she's NOT pretty. I have no idea how she ever made it to the top 12 on ANTM at all. The same goes with most of the girls on this show. I don't understand it. CNTM this year is awful for that as well.
