We hear Ashley Olsen is raising some eyebrows after her appearance at the James Perse store opening on Wednesday. It's not that Ashley didn't look incredible - she did - or that her presence wasn't appreciated - it was - but, in the words of one retailer, "Why is she posing for photos at another retail chain for t-shirts? She should only be promoting her own t-shirt line, especially because of its price point!" Translation: Ashley's line, The Row, charges hundreds for a t-shirt... more, even, than James Perse does for their brand. Was her appearance a wise decision? Or is it the sign of ultimate coolness that a designer* can hype other people's brands - even when they directly compete with their own? * sorry, "designer."
