For Ashley, The Row Is Not Enough

ashley o row.jpg

We hear Ashley Olsen is raising some eyebrows after her appearance at the James Perse store opening on Wednesday.

It’s not that Ashley didn’t look incredible - she did - or that her presence wasn’t appreciated - it was - but, in the words of one retailer, “Why is she posing for photos at another retail chain for t-shirts? She should only be promoting her own t-shirt line, especially because of its price point!”

Translation: Ashley’s line, The Row, charges hundreds for a t-shirt… more, even, than James Perse does for their brand.

Was her appearance a wise decision? Or is it the sign of ultimate coolness that a designer* can hype other people’s brands - even when they directly compete with their own?

* sorry, “designer.”

never see The Row at Nordstrom Rack for $15, so I think the client list is different :)

designers go to each other's collections all the time... anna sui is often at the marc jacobs shows because theyre friends... it just means that they are friends and support each other. I mean, just cause she has a line of clothing doesnt mean that now she can't ever wear any other designer.
give the girl a break.

It was the opening for the MEN'S store.
Last I checked the Row was strictly for the ladies.....
