Fresh Samantha

We've wondered before if anyone on America's Next Top Model could truly become a fashion industry staple.

Gemma Ward managed to turn a few seconds on Australia's Search for a Supermodel into her break, but so far, the only one who's gotten bigger thanks to ANTM is Tyra Banks.

That might change next season, when Samantha Francis hits New York. You might remember Samantha as the lithe, blithe girl who got eliminated in Top Model's second episode... the one who actually looked like a model.

And though Tyra didn't feel Samantha had Top Model potential, Elite models recently signed her to their new faces board.

Ironically, that's where she joins Jaslene, whose Top Model prize is an Elite contract!

Let's see if Samantha can break the Top Model curse... we're not into betting, but it does seem to be a great year for those booted from reality TV.

Are you actually surprised N. didn't win? 1. You can take the girl out of the гетто, but you can't take the гетто out of the girl 2. Eastern Europeans are over and 3. SHE'S A MAIL-ORDER BRIDE!!!

Samantha was my all time favourite for this season and I KNEW that she had what it takes. Yeah, she was a little shy... soo what? She was the only one that could be actually 'working'. Bad choice letting her go.

I liked Samantha, too, and I would've been surprised of her early demise from the show had I not known that the ANTM is a complete joke. It's obvious the show is just around to make money for its makers. It really hasn't got that much to do with the real high end models out there.

I don't know that much about the careers of Top Model-girls outside US but one I know that has been doing well is Suvi Koponen who won a model reality show a couple of years ago in Finland. The show wasn't Top Model franchise, though.

i thought of samantha when the judges made a comment about renee looking old. if they wanted a fresh, young thing, why didn't they give samantha a chance to grow on the show? why string renee along and then decide she's too old in the end?

anyhow, happy for samantha. the show is a joke anyway.

samantha was amazing... I mean she got kicked off from the show, coz she doesnn't know how to act slutty? BS!

I can't wait to see her in spreads or on the runway! She's beautiful...

Winker: Great comments about Nata...
Carrie:do you think CoverGirl would pick a Russian/Mail-order-bride to represent their supposedly wholesome brand??? argh... just brought back memory when she was having some sort of "phone sex" in the earlier port of show..

they kept renee on because she created so much good-for-tv drama... they probably thought she was too "old looking" the whole time.

If she's afraid to play a slut, how do you think she's going to be in the modeling world?

And by the way, Natasha was actually beautiful. Jaslene looked like a man. And there is no proof that she's a mail order bride.

I think it was the editing, I don't think she was actually afraid to play a "slut." The producers didn't think she was dramatic enough so they kicked her off. In reality, no drama on a photo shoot is a good thing!
