Isaac Mizrahi To Perform at Joe’s Pub

If you missed the Isaac Mizrahi show during Fashion Week, or the Isaac Mizrahi Show on the Style Network, here’s your chance to see the real deal:

This Friday, Isaac performs at Joe’s Pub in the East Village, along with his band, The Ben Waltzer Quintet. The show starts at 7:30, and includes skits, monologues, a Q&A period, and Isaac bursting into song. About that last part, Isaac asks Joe’s Pub, “Wouldn’t you rather see a really bad, really earnest singer than someone who’s just so jaded and knows they’re good?”

But don’t let the humility fool you - Isaac was a performer long before he started making clothes. At fourteen, he enrolled in the High School of Performing Arts, and he had a small part in Fame, the movie based on his high school.

Tickets for the show cost $25 - about the same price as an Isaac Mizrahi for Target dress.

Isaac is an intense performer. I saw him in Les Mizrahi at the Greenwich House theatre a few years ago and he was so incredibly dynamic and talented telling his story about growing up and going to fashion school. He is the walking definition of fabulous!

Oh the irony, I just got back from NYC, and stayed in the East Village to boot!

I consider Isaac my imaginary best gay friend and I am sure if we ever met it would be more than just imaginary on my part. I adore him.

Gonna put "Fame" in my Netflix queue just so I can scope him out.
