There's a line halfway down the block for Phillip Lim's Uniqlo designs, which hit stores today. Lines are always a little humiliating, and surely you have better things to do than stand between Prince and Spring St. looking bewildered, but here's why it might be worth it to go: The actual Phillip Lim is standing very patiently by his collection, watching shoppers carefully select their pieces, and smiling shyly when anyone recognizes him. The store was shut from 9 - 11 this morning so fashion editors could buy their clothes first - we're especially grateful to Seventeen accessories editor Tina Langley, who walked us through the whole collection and picked out her favorites for us! - but now everyone who arrives can have a chance at the collection. So far, the fastest selling dress is the plaid jumper, but there's also a take on the famous rosette dress and - our pick - a belted white linen shift that's easy to dress up or down. The pieces we bought are below; we got them for just over $200... and we don't anticipate them to last through tomorrow. The line was intense.
