velvetanthropologie.jpgWhy is this Velvet dress marked down from $198 to $19.95, on Anthropologie.com?

a. It’s an extremely difficult shape to wear.

b. It’s clearly left over from winter.

c. Velvet finally realized they're the most overpriced brand in America.

d. It was a peace offering on the part of Anthropologie, since shopping there is a near-death experience - every time you breathe, you almost choke on the potpourri.

e) all of the above.

Seriously, that dress isn't even worth $20 because it will add at least 20 pounds to my body in all the places I don't want it. It makes the mannequin look knocked up.

I wondered that too when I tried it on. It's absolutely horrible. DON'T BUY IT.

VELVET is super overpriced. Although my friends did buy some gorgeous shift dresses from that label not too long ago... but at Century21 where they're $40, psssh.

It even makes the mannequin look fat. Never a good sign.

i like it. bought it just now too. i intend on chopping off the hem to my knees so its not all over the place. and if i fuck it up? it was only worth $19.95 after all!

i think though, on a fatty like me, the dress will rock.

I bought it too. It'll be so much cuter once I cut off the crazy-ass hem and exchange the bow belt for something less cliched that I already own. Worst-case scenario, I wear it when I actually AM pregnant -- it's still better than 99 percent of the maternity clothes out there.
