They remind me of the purple keds I had as a kid made out of the same fabric as an umbrella. Man, I loved those shoes, but I would never wear them now.

The silver ones are from the late, great Magic Shoes, the deadstock vintage shoe store on Bleecker that tragically closed a few months ago :(

oh my god magic shoes closed? I remember being like, 13? and thinking the 80's vans were so awesome, and I really really wanted these dinosaur ones but they weren't in my size there

i guess they are fun, but i am reminded of the baton twirlers in high school..something very dance troupe about it..its not my favourite look.
