faran has the "fake friend but really i hate you" voice that never seems to go out of style in nyc. its like a sorority girl dialect or something. and those girls could never execute thats right, im throwin shade up in here, a lanvin garment so they should just stop being so pretentious.

i think i'm going to have to agree with the person on the last "what's in your bag" - finding someone with a shopping bag and seeing what's inside it and how they will wear it would be MUCH more entertaining ! = )

Yes, we didn't have a random casting call for a girl to look inside people's bags. It's me - though I do agree it would be fun to look inside people's shopping bags.

well if she is cute and witty and we all know it than she should be assertive and take criticism with a grain of salt..she seems grown up enough to defend herself, or better, to not even care.

Man oh man. It's easy to throw out the insults with the convenient mask of the internet. Why come to the site, if you're here to insult? Seems like a waste of time to me.

Because lots of us like the site, we may just not be crazy about everything that goes on it. And because this is a blog, not a traditional news source, we can comment and give feedback that might guide the site, instead of having to write one of those those comically self-righetous letters to the editor where we explain that we were so disgusted by X article that we're canceling our subscription and never reading again.

And yes, I agree, personally insulting Faran isn't productive. But it may be an indication that the video segments aren't that popular (I never watch them, personally) and she should stick to the stuff she does best while looking for other interactive features (love the idea of styling what's in someone's shopping bag, for instance).

There is a difference between giving constructive criticism and going into blatant mean girl territory. I don't think attacking Faran is an indication of this segment not being popular because lately there seem to be these types of comments in every section. Wouldn't it just be easier to say- Hey Faran, we don't like this segment. Instead there are these insults that would make a fifth grader cringe.

I'm not the biggest fan of the videos cause I can't watch them while I'm in class or from my pda while I'm commuting.

I'd love to see this segment set up like the crushes on IS: a couple reasons the person is cool, and a couple pictures of them and the inside of their bag.

Go team!

sorry i have to go with the "NO STYLE" poster...i have known faran as a casual acquaintance (ie air kissing at fashion parties) for a couple of years and have always been FLABBERGASTED by her omnipresent lack of style. no fashion person i know dresses like they have less fashion sense. a few cheap pieces are fine if you know how to pull them off but her look just does not work. not about designer/not designer, she just has bad taste...

whoops. school computer hates me.

so ps, my fav part about meanie commenters on fash blogs is that they're always anonymous. They're like those people that pick on a sales girl at a store just cause they're having a bad day and they want to ruin someone elses too. Ugh. Get a life. Hah.

Its funny the way people pretend they know Faran and since they're anonymous, they think they can get away with it. All these people who say they know her are lying. I see her almost every weekend (we are not friends but we are in the same places a lot) and she's always getting her picture taken or she's made to tell her friends where she got her clothes. Her style is great, especially since she has an odd look about her and wouldn't fit well into more traditional clothes.

What else is funny is that the people who leave bad comments here think they are doing some harm to this site, but really they make it look very popular. Thirty comments on a lazy Friday afternoon? Gawker wishes they had that.

You are all just doing her a favor.

I don't think it's "meanie" and petty to discuss someone's style when they are a supposed expert in style. It's difficult to take her fashion advice if you don't think she knows fashion, see? That's all that's meant here, I think.

You're the broke one, since you're still anonymous and SO lying. You're probably jealous that she has a better job than you or that she has more followers!

I hope you post more lame, mean stuff so we can keep fighting you! Then we'll have 100 comments on this one silly post and Faran will look like the most popular girl in the world!!!!!!!!!

Wow, catty much? Agreed, it is pretty weak if you're going to spend your Friday afternoon slamming Faran you need to do it as anonymous. Must be a little threatened if you care enough to keep this going, anonymously of course.

I don't think anyone here ever claimed to be a fashion expert. This is a blog about fashion, the people behind it, and the people who love it. Part of what's so cool about this site is how unpretentious it is, and I hope it remains that way.

PS - Loved this segment, but I agree with Casey. A video of what's in your shopping bag would be awesome as well!

I think that "Anonymous" has finally revealed the multi-personality that's been hinted at since the first postings. Alas, most of the personaes are mean-spirited. And, succeeded in making some of the site about her/him. Bravo.

Faran's style is fun, refreshing and forward. She's an individual, and the What's 'N Your Bag spots are delightful. Keep it up, we love it here in our office!!!

Faran don't listen to the people who bash. Clearly you're doing something they cant and its rubbing them the wrogn way.

Personally I find the whats in your bag segments interesting in that rear window sort of way. Then again I am biased because I am OBSESSED with handbags and consider myself a bagwhore. but in general I think its a pretty fab idea. I do agree with come of the commentators who didn't bash on here that looking inside someone's shopping bag would also be really cool. But then like I said, I'm also nosey.
:)

Keep it up. There are bag lovers out there that enjoy taking a peek randomly at other people's stuff.

defamatory remarks are serious business.

next time, get proof and file charges. otherwise, you're guilty of written defamation (aka libel) against someone on her own blog. in which case, she should file charges against you.

I'm so very sorry Faran if I've ever called you out for not giving us enough depth with your writing or doing the notebook paper Photoshop thing that drives me crazy.

It's quite obvious we're ALL still in high school. I guess you knew your target audience afterall.

Lily, wow. these are major accusations. Instead of throwing them up an a chat board maybe you should be filing some sort of complaint legally, if they're realy true. seriously disgusting of you to make statements like the ones you have.

Faran, I hope you have some sort of URL tracker on this so you can find who this person is.

Also, what's in your bag is not my favorite either. Maybe it's the people you've chosen. Can you go up to d-list celebs, socialites and editors? that would be more interesting and funny.

Your blogs make my long days in front of a computer more bearable. Keep up the great work! I'm your #1 fan.

Love,
Gracie
