We love Style.com’s new blog, and the random tidbits they bring back from parties (Calvin Klein opening a hotel? Omigosh…), so we thought we’d add one of our own:

At least night’s Whitney Art Party, smokers were marked on the hand with Sharpie as they went outside to puff. Those with marked hands could show their wrists at the door to prove they’d already been inside - skipping the red carpet, the line at the entrance, and the check-in stations where people’s tickets were proofed.

One fashion editor arrived just as Kate Bosworth hit the red carpet, and outside was pandemonium. Instead of waiting to enter, she was handed a pen from a former intern’s Stam bag and promptly marked herself up, then swept inside in two seconds.

“I can’t believe you have a Sharpie in there,” said the editor.

“What?” said the old intern. “You’ve never snuck into a concert?”
