Le Bike Short

Ever since we first saw the metallic bike shorts at American Apparel, we’ve been waiting to see if anyone on the street would dare to wear them. They’re tight, they’re short, they’re neon, AND they’re reflective. Not exactly a go-to-item for when you want to grab something to go do errands.

Finally it happened. We spotted the bike shorts in Union Square peeking out of the bottom of this girl’s denim suspender look.

While we could see these shorts going tragically amiss – with a short top for example, or with anything else metallic or reflective - we say she pulled them off!

What do you think? And would you try it?

you need the bike shorts for compression--eat a tic tac in those shorts and you'll be bursting out.

of course she pulls it off, she's a victoria's secret model!
but that aside, i live in LA and have seen lots of people wearing those shorts...it definitely seems like a trend that doesn't translate between coasts though.

I think SHE pulls it off, but it's always a little frightening when skin tight articles of clothing come back around. If only because in six months, when this shit trickles down here to the South, I'll walk into Waffle House one night, and — SWEET BABY JESUS!!

Yeah, that shit looks cute on a model. But that's where it needs to stay. On a model or someone as small as a model.

And that's all I have to say about that.

she looks totally amazing, but soo not translating well for anyone with more "generous" features. And the corset shorts you can get at topshop - they have a pair very similiar without the overall straps. I've tried them on - surprisingly flattering. Love love love the nail varnish - about to go get me some myself
