Got her: On Mott Street, where we have installed permanent spies outside our office…
Stalked her: Because her gladiator sandals made our day.
Shot her: Because she wore simple pieces with great detailing, and
balanced out the all-black with a good injection of crazy color. Also, note the little shorts!
She says: “The top is Jill Stuart, and these sandals are Prada, from like
five years ago. I love to mix and match my outfits.”
We say: The black chic of the family.
Editor’s Note: The Prada sandals will be back in another post today!

I think the look of confusion and consternation on her face signifies the question that we would all like answered…. How did those shoes get on her feet? They could rock (I actually do like them) with the right outfit, (shades of green perhaps or something equally colorful) but NOT all black.

i agree i dont really like the shoes with the outfit, i think it gives off a very “look at my really cool shoes, i don’t know how to style them so i’ll just wear all black” vibe. plus, the clothing style and the shoe style and totally opposite, and not in the good way. you should have just shot her feet maybe.

am I the only one who doesn’t get the gladiator trend? it cuts off the length of the leg and makes the calf look too thick, in the same way almost all T-straps do. they’re really ill-advised unless you have stick legs or are 5’10″ or taller, neither of which is true of myself or the majority of the population.
I do like her hair, though.

I’m not a fan of gladiator shoes either, unless of course I’m living out my Caligula fantasy and watching two bloodthirsty men fight to the death….BUT, the crazy blue/green stones make it for me. They just need to be styled correctly.

I love this all black in the summer. It’s so Victorian and totally work appropriate. I wish the girls in my office would wear this instead of all their blinding florals.

Wearing those pretty shoes with another colorful ensemble would be completely tacky and disastrous – i love that top and the detailing – very classy. Its a great look – chic, casual and a ‘lets-not-play-matching-shoes-matching-top-matching-everything’ – lets play it cool! I think she carries off those shoes well whether she’s tall or short – talk about accessorizing in style and taste! I hope those shoes come back – I am ready to grab them!

Sarah- It’s not about matching, it’s about a combination that doesn’t hurt one’s eyeballs. Color is nothing to be afraid of….(and I love black, don’t get me wrong).

Don’t get me wrong either – I am not afraid of color – I love color – particularly when it is used in good taste and balance – in this case I certainly would not like to see a vision of green – I can go to Kmart for that look!

True Sarah, but I could also go to Kmart to see people who can’t match their shoes to their outfit. :P
And by matching, once again, I just mean something that doesn’t look like a mistake. Is Kmart’s P.R. Department reading this?

She looks good, deal with it!
