Mischa Barton Grows Up for Iceberg

Is Mischa Barton going up-market?

On the back cover of this month's Dazed & Confused, Mischa looks fancy in a campaign for Iceberg, the obscure Italian brand.

It's quite a shift from the campus casual look of her Keds ads, or that of Bebe's synthetic mall-chic.

But what's Iceberg?

The Euro brand focuses on 'fashionable sportswear,' and shows every season in Milan. They have recently sought creative input from designer Giambattista Valli, in hopes of raising their profile.

Their association with Mischa (who has the distinction of being the 10th most invited person to British parties, according to Tatler) must stem from the same aspiration.

But is Mischa ready for a more luxe image? Her next movies are ages away, and until people can see them, they'll still remember her as the wooden Marissa Cooper from The O.C. - or as the girlfriend of this guy.

I always thought this brand was more of an urban thing. Remember Mystikal in "Shake Ya Ass"? -- "I'm buyin' if you got nice curves for your Iceberg."

favorite iceberg ad--the milla jovovich one where she is touching her lips from the 90s...i think anna sui and marc jacobs where in them around the same time too.....

They were huge back around 2000-2001. They did this whole cartoon character thing that all the hip-hop guys loved.

Iceberg? I never heard of it until I went on this website for the first time! Mischa is one of my favorite celebs, but she doesn't really fall into the model category if she's going to look like what she does in the first pic on this page....but GO MISCHA! luv ya!

i dont know how 'upmarket' a brand can be when pamela anderson used to be their face to the world! the pictures were hot but i got more of a tongue in cheek heatherette combined with an urban streetwear kind of marithe francois girbaud vibe on the whole thing

I think Mischa's already got the luxe image (no thanks to her Keds campaign), courtesy of her personal style and fashiony forays on the red carpet. but to me, these ads don't say upmarket; they sorta feel like the Bebe ads (which was a weird fit anyway...).
and personally, I wish Mischa would stick to being a model and leave the acting to the pros.
