Dita Von Teese.
The fashionable stripper just shot their Christmas catalogue, where peace, love, and goodwill towards men apparently includes a bustier and some nipple tassels.
But can Dita outsell Heidi Klum?
Frederick’s told WWD that Dita’s “retro glam and persona highlight Frederick’s iconic brand and rich Hollywood heritage.”
We suspect something different.
If the VS Angels represent the popular cheerleaders of lingerie - smiley, sweet, and popping bubblegum sex - then Dita is the sharply-nailed Goth girl who beckons the cynics, the misfits, and the outsiders into her corner.
Which camp of corset buyers is bigger could determine the direction of lingerie marketing for the next few years.
But don’t ask us - all we wear is t-shirt bras from Calvin Klein…

Oooh! Stripper? I don't think so. Dita tantalizes. Strippers smell like metal and fruity lotion. Not tantalizing.
I think Fredericks is very smart in continuing to brand themselves as the naughty, cheesecake lingerie of choice. Sometimes a girl needs something more inspiring than pink and sweet.
I suspect that sales will go up for them because secretly, women want to be the naughty girl that Dita represents behind closed doors. These are the women that are shelling out hundreds of dollars for a corset and buy their cotton undies at Target!
