Girls Gone Styled

Girls Gone Styled

You may remember Abby as our Fashionista muse and model, but she’s actually a stylist and TV producer who’s pulled us into something crazy.

It’s Girl’s Gone Styled, a new mini-show that’s like The Style Network on twelve triple lattes.

Check out our first manic episode, where we quiz designer Rebecca Minkoff and pillage a wardrobe of Marc by Marc.

And coming up:

An interview with Proenza’s technical designer, a tour of the Seventeen fashion closet, and a crash-course on how to shop for vintage clothes if you hate thrift stores (in fact, we did, before we filmed that episode).

We may not have as much eyeliner or drama as The Hills, but you need something to last you through the rest of the week…

Does everybody talk like that in NY? You're cute but you speak so... so... I don't even know what adjective to use. It's a far cry from the English spoken in New Zealand, that's for sure.

I really enjoyed that, though do you both actually talk in that breathless valley-girl pitch all the time? Your voices sounded like my seventeen year old cousin's. Vocal bewilderment aside, the clip was great, and I'm looking forward to the next one.

I wish this was on the Style Network--since they never play Fashion File or Fashion Television, this would be a nice substitute...

Very entertaining!

Everything's a far cry from New Zealand, Madeleine. That country is more remote and isolated than Antartica.

Not everyone in NYC talks like that. That accent belongs to twenty-something middle class girls.

WOW I thought people only talked and moved like that in movies about american spoiled high school kids.
But it's stragely compelling seeing he real thing, i can't wait for the next one, even if it's just to see your team speak.

And Rebecca's bags are gorgeous.

Ouch Kristen!! Maybe they were excited and that manifested itself vocally...Paris Hilton has been known to do a baby doll voice when nervous or shy. Her real voice is many octaves lower and more normal sounding...

I thought the clip was fun, enjoyed seeing a normal person's closet as opposed to the freeze-dried, new money ones you see in fashion mags

I really loved this and cannot wait for the next one. It was like three mini shows in one. I wish there were more shows like this on television but I definitely don't mind watching it online. When is the next Girls Gone Styled?

It's kinda hard to take someone seriously who is bouncing up and down --it destroys your credibility and seems unprofessional even though your voice is really nice and doesn't match the body language. Other than that, the closet segment was great.

The closet segment was interesting but very dark. (Maybe it's my work monitor...not sure.)

I'll admit both of your voices came off sounding like you were cheerleaders but I think its probably due to excitment. That said you both may want to tone it down a bit.

The bag segment was great. I have the Morning After bag and the segment made me want to pull it out of my closet again.

When I met Faran, I was completely jealous of her voice, because it sounded like the type of voice that would be able to perfectly sing the Eponine part from Les Miserables like the girl in the cast recording I had when I was younger.

Who says everyone has to talk like newscasters, with their boring pan-American "accent" and inflection? Fashion is fun, and I think it's fine if Faran's voice reflects that fun and excitement.

I know I'm responding late, but I really liked it. (I actually watched it twice.) The closet segment was good, Alex was great, you guys should make her a regular segment host.

I think the voice thing came from nervousness and all the Starbucks.

And as someone with a serious neu yawk accent, be thankful they spoke clearly!

This is actually a cute idea that was very cutely executed, especially the closet feature -- definitely should be a weekly installment. It's great to peek into other NYC girls' wardrobes. I'm even tempted to send you a video, my closet IS my apartment(!)

i love it. there's a little valley girl twang but overall it's very "real" and you girls both look "real" and it's refreshing because most fashion/lifestyle/style hosts typically look manufactured with too much gloss (and i'm not talking about lips) etc
