White Shoes are Seasonless

angel shoe.jpg
In our opinion, white shoes are always cute. Before Labor Day, after Labor Day - on Labor Day. Whenever.

Yes, it’s hard to keep them clean, and no, they are not practical. But that hasn’t stopped us from going crazy about these “Brigid heels from Finnish accessories designer Minna Parikka.

Having cherubic wings on your feet sure beats having them tattooed on your back (Nicole Richie, you’re sort of awesome, but…).

And now you can look like a perfect little angel while you trample all over the hearts of boys.

We can’t see a better reason to splurge.

Thanks for telling us about this great designer! If only her shoes were available somewhere else besides the 2 styles anthro carries!

Kathleen Turner is going to bludgeon you with a telephone.

"But fashion has changed!"

"NO...it HASN'T!!"

Said, it before, I'll say it again: White shoes (and pants!) after Labor Day are OK in California, in NYC, in MIami, and probably in many other places. But not in the South. Exception: brides and debutantes.

Totally depends on the outfit, but I lean toward the "put them away after trees turn colors" school.

I wish it wasn't such a faux pas. White in the winter compliments a paler complexion.

White shoes after labour day: no.

Silver shoes after labour day: hell yes. They go with everything, and seem much more stylish than black (or indeed white, which has bad/ironic connotations in the UK). Louboutin did some great silver shoes a couple years ago, and you can always pick up good, cheap silver t-straps from ballroom dance stores - a trick I learned from Diana Vreeland.
