Fashion Week hasn’t started yet, but the catwalks are already going: They kicked off this morning with Grey Ant.

We’re a huge fan of this LA label because their clothes always remind us of what we’d want to wear if the apocalyse were a party. They’re shredded and sullen, but still pulse with heart - for instance, there’s nothing robotic about Grey Ant’s famous high jeans, which might be fall’s perfect pant - if you get them tailored for your leg length.

Designer Grant Krajecki said his show referenced “Seattle,” and our favorite gleam of that was the shoes - massive crocodile heels that strapped with nylon Velcro which wound around the foot just like Tevas did in seventh grade.

We thought the touch was brilliant, and made the rest of the collection - glimmering slim-cut pants, tailored billows of block print fabric worn as dresses, gray and black paneled bodices - straddle somewhere between a trip down memory lane and a trip on violet-tinged acid.

Exactly how we’ll want to look for next Summer, we expect…
