Those waiting on Jovovich-Hawk for Target are (sort of) in luck:
Net-a-Porter has a rather unbeatable deal on a black slip dress and leggings from the label, sold together for $92.
But gazing at the outfit, we realized it was more than a killer bargain.
It also represents what a heap of LA designers offer for Fall:
Fabrics in light weight and breezy cut, with the detail, shape, and color that follows Fall trends.
And though we’ve talked about “seasonless dressing” a lot, a trip to Jeffrey’s today revealed that even the sleeveless and weightless offerings for Fall – like this insanely great dress from Oscar de la Renta, hanging lonely on a rack – still fit the whims of Amy Larocca’s 5×10 trend board.
Is this the future of fashion?

The main problem with that Oscar dress is that it’s instantly identifiable as 2007, and it also is memorable, like the yellow ballgown he did with the black embroidery. I saw that one on a woman in this month’s Town and Country, and immediately recognized it. These are the kind of dresses you can only wear once, then you have to give them a long rest. I’d rather have his black dress from this fall with the shaped skirt and slightly belled sleeves.
re: trend board – it’s about time for slimmer silhouettes to come back. i attempted to try to find a dress yesterday and got really frustrated with everything being huge and tent shaped.
