Chloe Sevigny’s line for Opening Ceremony is really cute – you can watch a video preview of the collection at style.com.
We like all the stuff – the tribal fabric minidress, the oddly patterned high waisted skinny pants, the liberty print frocks, and even the gingham pants.
But we don’t know if we like the idea of buying a “Chloe Sevigny” branded item.
Chloe has great style, but part of what makes her a fashion icon is that she is such an individual. Whether you see her photographs on best-dressed lists or in the “what were they thinking” pages of gossip mags, she never looks like just one of the crowd.
If every downtown girl picks up a Chloe Sevigny minidress at Opening Ceremony, then how does the line reflect Chloe’s personal, highly individual style?
Maybe the Olsen twins were the smart ones for keeping their names off the labels for The Row.
