Kicking yourself for missing out on those American Express Fashion Week tickets? Craiglist has come to your rescue: Someone is selling her sky box seat at Zac Posen for $500. In our opinion, that's far too much for a show you'll probably get kicked out of for crashing. But hey, don't forget: Your experience does include a giftbag. Amex cardholders aren't the only ones looking to pick up some cash with their extra fashion show invites. Craiglist is currently teeming with show invitations for sale, ranging from $49 (Thread Social) to $750 (Zac Posen, again). In some cases, you get an "e-mail invitation", which means that you can RSVP to the designer's publicist with your own name and imaginary media affiliation (good luck with that). In others, you get a print invite and instructions on how to pretend you don't know why you're not on the list. So where are all these invitations coming from? Some come from brands who sponsor shows. Executives at those places usually get seats as a courtesy, but sometimes they care more about cash than catwalks. Other bogus invites are sold by people working for PR agencies, media outlets, or - in one memorable instance - a disgruntled employee who quit before Fashion Week. But we wouldn't recommend buying tickets from Craigs List (or anywhere) because it could be a scam... and also because the Zac tickets cost between $500 - $750 - The same price as one of his blouses, which you could buy instead. --ANNA FIELDING GRIGGS
