It Ain’t Over Till It’s Over

We don’t care what anyone says, we know you all love Sex and the City. Don’t try to hide it.

We’re psyched about the upcoming movie, which will hopefully fill the huge emotional void that opened up in our life ever since the show went off the air.

Our favorite thing about Sex and the City is how Carrie is supposedly the most fashionable woman who lives this amazing life as a newspaper columnist, but actually she just wears seriously insane outfits that don’t even look good. That’s why we love her.

Would it be half as much fun to watch her wipe out into that giant puddle in the TV show intro sequence if she wasn’t wearing that sheer pink leotard and gigantic tutu? We think not.

And the movie promises to deliver the same SJP thrills - people.com has a preview of some of the outfits the girls will be wearing in the movie. Our favorite is this gigantic flower dress.

Oh, Carrie.

I totally agree with you on the crazy outfits being the fun part. I never really thought about it that way. I've been writing a lot about how Gossip Girl is supposed to be the next SATC, fashion-impact wise, but I've been hung up on how there is a different feel to the wardrobe choices. I get it now: GG is too wearable-- it's missing the fantasy of Carrie's SATC wardrobe.

was she supposed to be fashionable or just uniquely styled?

That flower is *ridiculous* and detracts from the dress itself. I can't wait for the flick though!

What do you mean "don't even look good" ?? True, Carrie's look isn't for everyone, but it's about having fun with fashion...since it's completely frivolous. And I'm not criticizing fashion, I love the frivolity.

I think the attraction of her outfits to me is they arent dumbed down. Shell wear something completely outrageous, right off the runway, and not have to bother with any of this "real way" stuff for those of us who are too afraid to go all out.

Yeah, it is part of the fun. I also hate (but love) the fact that Carrie wears the most ridiculous things but manages to look good in all of them! SJP has a great figure.

Well, ladies, you know that the SITC girls are styled by Patricia Field... So you have to expect a little wonkiness in their looks.

On another note: I can't wait to enjoy a large bag of peanut M&M's while watching this movie! :o)
