Streetwalker: Check This Out

Sep 28, 2007 @ 2:35pm

this librarian doesn't wear glasses, but we do.jpgJenny, 29, librarian

Got her: While we walked down Prince Street to buy a cinnamon bun at Dean and Deluca.

Stalked her: Because her bright colors cheered up our day, and her moccasins made us nostalgic for our childhood Minnetonkas.

Shot her: Because she's wearing three tough styles at once (citrus colors, patchwork, and moccasins) and totally pulls them all off!

She says: "I got this dress at a thrift shop in Pittsburgh for 50 cents, and my purse is from the same store. I nabbed the sweater from my old roommate!"

We say: You can't Shhh us; we love this outfit!

I agree with you guys.

IThe courage to have hair that short is amazing, and looks fabulous on this woman, but the outfit, no thank you.

Back on Monday with better Streetwalkers, I promise.

Uh, well, I liked it!

I am all about people wearing yellow this season, so maybe I'm biased. But I stand by my assessment that it is a good outfit.

C'mon -- I like the clothes -- they're really interesting. The colors are great, and the mocs are pretty terrific. I even dig the bracelet.

Honestly, I think that a lot of the problem here is that the photos are not very strong (sorry!), and she looks a little uncomfortable.

I can sympathize with that, because I dislike being photographed, and when I'm uptight, I don't always photograph well.

But really, that's a great outfit. And I'll bet that if we saw her walking down the street, at ease, she'd be rocking it.

She's actually wearing color??? Wha--What? Beautiful, bold! But - alas - most of us, and by us I mean us white girls in the US of A, either secretly wish we could be a walking pantone palette or secretly have no idea how to wear anything outside of gray/brown/khaki/black. I think it's great, but I also think that for a classy-er look that matches her skin tone and hairstyle she should try some of those calm browns/khakis/black and then have a subtle burst of yellow, red, or orange.
Mostly, I am just glad to see that yellow is in. And when it's "out" I'll still be wearing it!

The dress, sweater, haircut are great. She should have left the bag where she found it. Also, the mocs, I don't care for. She's cute, though. Stands out in a crowd.
