Our first designer shoes were Miu Miu; they're green and purple suede, cris-crossed over wool herringbone with a 4-inch heel. We still think they're stunning, and Miuccia Prada's bridge line continues to produce some of our favorite shoes. So we take it a little personally when they're so directly ripped off. The other day, we saw our black patent Mary Janes at Steve Madden, sighed, and let it go. But today, we found last season's coveted pump, the two-tone satin Mary Jane, on Nine West's website. The shoes are the same shape, the same height, and the same fabric. We'd think the easiest thing to copy from Miu Miu's Spring '07 runway would be the color scheme, but that's where Nine West went horribly wrong. Gone is the subtle ivory satin offset with rich spring colors and in its place are dark wintery colors that we couldn't, and wouldn't, match to our outfits. --BRITT ABOUTALEB
