Sometimes, we wish copying other designers was a benevolent practice – especially when our favorite lines ever get knocked off, with cheaper prices.
In fact, every time someone duplicates a piece from Marc by Marc’s Fall ’05 collection, we get a little pang of “Oooh, but isn’t it okay to buy it, just this once?”
It isn’t, but seeing this Marc by Marc by Wallis outfit makes us realize two things:
1. Marc’s pretty-grunge collection from over 2 years ago is still one of the biggest influences on youth uniforms and mass-market sportswear today.
2. Some dresses should really just be reserved for Gemma.
But maybe Marc should consider a Greatest Hits collection… or maybe he’ll just knock off his own Fall ’05 line if his mass-market line, M3, ever gets off the ground…
