We always salivate when pictures emerge of Monaco royal Charlotte Casiraghi’s latest outfits. Fashion forward since before she could say “Chanel,” Grace Kelly’s granddaughter can afford a style that’s a fine mix of polished and provocative.

Now Charlotte is bringing her savvy to a new journalism gig at London’s Independent.

We’re used to socialites attempting to chronicle their fashion adventures - which are usually pretty boring - and so we were surprised with the quality of Charlotte’s first piece, a profile of the David Lynch/Christian Louboutin “Fetish” exhibition entitled “Sole Mates.”

Although the piece was a bit fawning, it did explore the way shoes and sex collided on film, and the way Lynch outlawed skinny models on his set.

While credit for the story’s construction must also be paid to co-writer Rhiannon Harries, an Independent staffer, we’ll be curious the next time Charlotte is snapped with a big-name designer — she might profile them as a follow-up.
