Cobbler Hill

Have you ever wanted to make your own shoes? If so, we wouldn’t suggest starting with a stiletto.

Aspiring cobblers and DIYers might want to check out this new “Stitch-It” - a “do it yourself” shoe from Simple. $65 gets you a kit containing all the materials and instructions you need to make your very own pair of somewhat floppy suede shoes.

We think they look a little bit like the Marc by Marc moccasins, but a LOT more homespun.

Would you sew your own shoes, or do you think this is one of those things best left to the professionals?

where do you find this stuff? i probably wouldn't wear them, but it's definitely a really cool idea. i don't even know how to sew, but i looked at the how-to and it looks like something even i could easily do.

For me, making that would be more complicated than heart surgery.

It's actually really easy. I made my own moccasins when I was like 8.
