Paris, New York, and Milan are over, but that means its time for some German design, imported to lower Manhattan. Last night, Hugo Boss took the stage in the Financial District, and while Kate Winslet wouldn't talk to press (Boo! We love Kate Winslet!), we did catch Lara, Tanya, Caroline, and Catherine McNeil just after they hit the runway - Catherine was arm-in-arm with Sasha P., who actually tripped on the runway, and then made the cutest face ever (a huge smiley "Oooh," like kids do when they see snow). As for the clothes, they were classic, and basic, and somewhat shiny. The trend of men wearing shorts with shiny pointy shoes isn't just for TopMan and Prada - we saw it here too, with shiny lace-ups in ombre patent leather that faded gray-to-green. After the show, girls in French Maid costumes pushed carts of champagne onto the runway. They crashed, flutes fell, and Kristin Davis almost got stabbed with the shards - but not before telling reporters she had faith the Sex and the City plot was safely stashed on a sound stage. Woody Allen played clarinet onstage afterwards. And there was jumbo shrimp. The whole thing was quite an adventure, but back to the clothes: More pink for Spring? Cool.
