It was predicted that Natalia's first (only?) show at Paris Fashion Week would be Valentino's, but actually no. She made a surprise appearance at Balenciaga yesterday, and several hours before today's Valentino show she hit the rainbow-striped catwalk for Lagerfeld, the eponymous and slightly grungy fashion line created by the Kaiser. But Natalia wasn't the only thing resurrected this season - Karl put a bunch of white Wayfarers on the runway, ensuring some of us will still be wearing them for at least another year. Also: Spiky plastic bracelets, spiky plastic headbands, Doherty fedoras, and skinny black pants. "It's about his obsession with youth," sighed one British Vogue staffer, and it sounded like a complaint. But we're not griping about anything on the runway - It means we can keep all our own clothes for another year without feeling like we've gone past the trend, as long as they're accessorized with straight, flying hair and a soundtrack that includes M.I.A. (Karl's music of choice, this time). After all, Karl approves.
