Lightweight scarves, like everything else we really love, have little practical or functional use. They're just all about jazzing up your outfit. When girls wear them, it's all French Godard-film glam. If a guy ties one on, it's instantly dandifying. While the patterns, fabrics, and sizes change, scarves usually come in two standard shapes - the square and the rectangle. But Swedish accessory designer Mariah has ingeniously found a way to make the best accessory even better. Her delicate black and white scarves have beautiful scalloped edges and unexpected shapes. We especially love the one with a feather-like graphic pattern that looks a bit like a bird draped around your shoulders. If it doesn't keep us warm, we'll just fly south for the winter. --ALISON COOL
