Galliano Reinvents the Grill

00110m.jpg
Our favorite fashion show in absentia was Galliano - trapped by World Rugby traffic and a small stomach flu, we surrendered to Style.com and found a fun phenomenon:

Galliano’s lip grill.

Created with some major rhinestones, the effect is a bit too heavy for real life, but it looked amazing on his Grey Gardens runway.

It also reminded us of several close-up shots from The Boom Box Book by photographer Alastair Allen, which made us wonder if woven into the streamy chiffon excess, there was also a little thread of club kid.

Anyway, don’t try wearing the lip look in real life, but if you want to dust your pout with a bit of shimmer powder, that could be cute.

This kind of terrifies me, but thanks for being a soldier (or, to borrow from Jade of ANTM, a "soul survivor") and keeping us updated despite having the flu

Iiiinteresting. I kind of dig it for aesthetic purposes, but it's got to be bad for your sex life, no?

Kelis on the cover of Vibe Vixen for the holiday 2006 issue:

same stone detail on the lip, check out the feathers on her eyelashes and she looks a lot less scary.

Galliano has hardly presented something new.
