Hussein Chalayan, Revealed!

Thursday, Oct 25, 2007 / 9:22 AM

020.jpg Fashion Week is finally over, but one final debut needs to break.
It’s the Hussein Chalayan show, a holographic video made by Nick Knight and the ShowStudio crew that was kept so secret in Paris, you needed a password just to see it.
Three weeks later, the clothes are finally public, and internationally on display at the ShowStudio blog.
We wish we could see a closer view of the clothes, but getting to flick through the collection is certainly exciting -
At least, it is if you think it’s a strong collection…

Just wanted to mention that I saw Christopher Wheeldon’s new ballet company Morphoses last week at City Center — one piece they performed had costumes by Hussein Chalayan, and another by Narciso Rodriguez.

I finally got around to watching it last weekend and was mesmerized. It’s absolutely beautiful and the clothes definitely stand out. I have some other stills on my blog as well, (just click on my name).
did you guys not think i was a strong collection?

I think that after this it is no longer possible to claim that fashion can’t be art. I’m really not sure about the clothes (don’t know if I hate or love them) but the presentation makes it extrordinary. The hats, though, I love the hats.

watching that video on full screen with the volume turned way up is a more emotional, haunting, and breathtaking than any runway video i’ve ever seen, even couture…

I completely agree with you mckeb, it’s exactly how I felt after I was done watching it. It definitely made me wish I had a huge screen tv to watch it, over and over again.
