I think hipsters have officially gone straight out the other end of cool. They’re so cool they’re lame, which I guess is sort of the opposite of movies that are so bad they’re awesome.

Yeah, I have to say, I don’t know and I don’t care. The Cory Kennedy backlash has definitely begun.

Yeah… there are at least 5 corys in a street now.

Because when Conde Nast covers something, it’s official… the time toforget has come.
The backlash has officially begun, its time for Some of us to move one , mainstream teens to take notice, and Cory to milk it for all she’s got now ,make some money for a while and then try to get a job as a stylist… or something.. x x

I’m really not hating…But Ive had enough of CK. To be honest- she isn’t even that stylish anymore…Sort of like when the Olsens created the ‘hobo-chic’ look…It was influential, it came, it left, its gone.
Same with Cory, Unless she shaves her head or comes out with a sex tape…Her stamp is already up. I totally agree she has a cult of followers & has helped pave the way for a nonchalant hipster style, But her time is done.
With that being said- I can guarantee her line for UO will not do that well. Not many people (unless, they’re super-psyched Japanese fans) Want to be seen/purchase/be a part of wearing a CK piece…Even if it is good.

1. we DO take fashion cues from high schoolers; they’re called those underaged models that designers use every season. no matter that designers and stylists dress them first; we often end up emulating their style off runways. not to mention the teen celebs (olsens, lalo, m.barton).
2. i don’t know CK and therefore can’t say anything about her personally, but she’s an unfortunate example of someone the fashion industry found years ago and just can’t let go of like some desperate animal clinging on their last strands of understanding what’s happening outside the fashion bubble. it’s not her fault really, but i wish the fashion folks would move on to the next muse, because she’s not inspiring anymore.

@amandabug:
Your 1st point is well taken, but as for number 2, I can’t have much sympathy for the fashion press CK is getting. Let’s be honest, if she wanted to be more obscure and go into hiding to salvage her credibility, she definitely could have. Girl is obviously eating it up.

ive been inured to CK at this point and really, who am i, a struggling fashion related female myself, to begrudge someone who may not have the experience i do but the same desires and affection for design. yeah. CK is young. but when you were 17 did you make your smartest fashion choices? and at least she knows her fame may be fleeting; taking every opportunity given to her because it may not every happen again
