If the NY Times says that ties are cool, than it must be true. Right? In one of the more unlikely convergences we can imagine, today's Thursday Styles seems to be in agreement with one of the hottest Berlin scenester labels - QED pour homme. QED's fall menswear collection (also the debut collection from the three talented German designers) is sprinkled with ascots, ties that droop down practically to the floor, and looks that could be described as prettty much anything other than "casual." The theme of the collection is "Jerry Lewis vs. Kasparov," and the designers describe it as "firmly rooted in the belief that intelligence is sexy - an intelligence made irresistible by its ironic self-contemplation." Translation: If you wanna look like Ethan Hawke, this is the way to go. --ALISON COOL
