We've been spotting a bounty of glasses on the visually impaired and the non-visually impaired for some time now. The summer's Ray-Bans have transitioned into the chunky thick-framed clear nerd glasses formerly relegated to your high school math teacher, now more likely to spot on models. Our favorite glasses by far are these amazing custom-made versions from Urban Spectacles of Wood. You can specify what kind of wood you want, the shape of the frames, and the type of lenses you use and Chicago-based designer Scott Urban will produce the wooden glasses of your dreams. If you're more into the sheen of plastic, Urban recently added the option of having frames made from your favorite old record - bonus points if you have colored or holographic vinyl! --ALISON COOL
