Agent Provocateur and the Yummy Mummies

Ever since Kate Moss left the Agent Provocateur campaign, there's been some serious struggle for her job.

First, AP chose Maggie Gyllenhaal, 28, but fans of the brand didn't like the mix of her soft body and severe sneer in the photos. She was edged out after just one season.

Next it was Catherine Bailey, 46, the wife of photographer David Bailey, who gives hope to any woman over 40 who still hopes to be sexy. Even posing next to Daisy Lowe and Tiah Eckhart in the ads, she looks insanely good.

But Catherine, too, is a one-time deal, and now it's onto the next, as British Vogue quashes rumors of a Lily Allen campaign with some news:

The French actress Vahina Giocante, 26, (at left) is the next star of the Agent Provocatuer campaign. Vahina isn't so known in the States, but she's racked up an impressive list of French film credits and has that really-smart-and-also-pretty look that AP seems to like.

She's also got one big thing in common with the other AP faces:

All of them are hot moms.

It seems AP likes the idea of the "yummy mummies" so popular in London (and on The Real Housewives of Orange County) right now, and maybe they think a woman can't be truly sexy until she has kids - a cool or completely misogynistic idea, depending on whom you ask.

So if Lily Allen wants in on the AP action, she may have to get busy in some other areas as well - but we're absolutely not recommending that!

I'm just glad it's not really Lily or Maggie again. I think they should just go back to what they had before and do cartoons and nameless models. It worked well before and it'll work well after. Someone who wants to buy Agent P is going to buy it no matter what, doesn't matter who the face is and I feel like their totally forgetting that by putting "star power" in their ads.

Love Vahina! She's in a big film right now in France, 99 Francs. Also, Lagerfeld shot her for the cover of the French Playboy relaunch (October of this year).

I'd say David Bailey's 1st Catherine also gives MASSIVE hope to women over 40....ya know, Mme Catherine Deneuve! LOL...guess he didn't want to change the monograms, eh?

I was surprised they picked Maggie G for that campaign, tbh. She's great, but an odd choice for them.

Since when are any of those women on that show "yummy"? More like plasticky.

Maggie's pics just didn't work. I blame the photog and stylist. I see nothing wrong with using an older woman or a mother, but take some good photos.

rachel mcadams! i don't shop there and I don't really like what they have, but Lily Allen would be ridiculous. Not attractice, not particularly talented, just bratty and self-involved.

Of course Maggie Gyllenhaal is beautiful, but so is Catherine Bailey who I think has done a fabulous job for A.P.

Why do so many women seem to think once you reach forty, or is it thirty, life is over?

I know lots of women who have blossomed in character, and appearance only after they reached the 'f' age.
