H&M for Cavalli Launch: Stam, Gift Bags, and Mannequin Assault!

st.JPG If you’re not one of the 300 people allowed inside H&M to shop their Cavalli collection first, here’s some news from the inside:

*The line still stretches around the block.

*Jessica Stam is currently standing on H&M’s escalator, in the Cavalli for H&M leopard-print gown, watching the mayhem and smiling (somewhat) for photos.

*The first few hundred shoppers got gift bags while waiting in line. They contained an autographed photo of Roberto Cavalli, a t-shirt (black for men, leopard print for women), and an H&M gift card that was worth anywhere from $5 to $300.

*There have been three actual fights for dresses so far, and mannequins in the windows and on the store floor are getting stripped of their clothes.

Guess our “Catfights - no! Cat prints - yes!” missive of yesterday went totally unheeded…

That wasn't a missive, that was an H&M ad.

I'm kind of sad I decided to not okay buttt sleeping in for an extra 3 hours was totally worth it. Hopefully no one got hurt or ended up crying like I witnessed at Karl Lagerfelds debut.

Now that it's out...who do you think will be the next designer?

I want those Donatella rumors to be true this year.

Ok I was at the 18th & 5th Ave H&M. Got there at 9.45 and was 3/4 of a block back from the entrance. Once I was in, only the accessories table was left. Looking at eBay now, I'm hating myself for putting back the last huge horn necklace thing. I managed to escape with 2 silk scarves and 2 tights. The dresses get gold garment bags at the register. Beautiful. Almost got maimed by many an empty clothing rack.

I saw the ad and went by the store on my way to work. The line was massive! Just wondering, did the series include accessories as well?

not even bothering. i just went and looked at the pictures of the collection online and the only things i really like are the trousers and jackets. maybe the ruffle blouse. i HATE animal print and even the pieces that aren't entirely leopard or zebra print have some kind of detailing that is. ugh.

Just ran over to the H&M in Chicago on Michigan Avenue and there was a big SOLD OUT sign in the window. All the was left were a few pairs of tights, the underwear, and some stuff from the men's line. Really surprised because there was plenty of stuff left around lunch for the Stella and Karl launches...

Nothing will be left on Saturday - trust me. Nothing was left 2 minutes after the store opened. There were even girls waiting at the fitting rooms to see if anyone gave up items. And there were accessories, but few. I saw no shoes at my store, and only the aforementioned necklace, scarves, tights, and underwear.

Do you guys think that they will replenish the stock?

Also, it bugs me that people buy it just to sell on ebay. I mean obvs they can make a ton of money, but it is just contrary to my love of fashion for fashion's sake. You should buy it and wear it because you love it.

That is so true, if you don't genuinely love it, then don;t buy it! I personally hate the big store for launching a big event for exclusive people

The gold dress is selling on ebay right now for $700. I am speechless.

These things go in like, an hour. When I got to the store at noon, the only things left were lingerie and a few men's items.
