I really like this idea- but what to wear with them if I don't want to look like Courtney Love circa 1995? Faran I remember you tried them in Europe- what did you guys wear?

i just cant befriend myself with those "Nazi" boots and i think they are uncombinable unless your name is cory kennedy and you look like you dont give a shit about your clothes, or anything else - stylish? for a 17 year old yes but i wouldnt want my friends to wear a pair of gothic shoes. noone here in paris would anyhow. BAAAHH one doesnt have to follow every trend there is. okay enough with the moaning. go ahead and persuade me to think differently ...

Whoa, whoa, there are boots that are way more terrifying and goth than docs! I have to say, I miss my old black doc martens... they were perfect with a swirly, girlie skirt, wife beater, retro grandpa cardigan with some kind of sparkly broach and most likely a kicky little hat. I've since moved on fashion wise, but I wake up almost every day, wanting to put on that outfit, smoke a cigarette (kicked out with the boots), drink some coffee and stomp around!

I hate that they are trying to make a huge fashion comeback! It's not the 90s! I suffered through 7th and 8th grade clomping around uncomfortably in them and I won't do it again!

suffered?
Man, I lived in mine. I won't wear them all the time but fully intend on stomping around in them when it snows.

Too hideous for everyday wear, but brilliant for riding the vespa and trekking around town in nasty weather.

I actually never stopped wearing mine from the 90s. As guest 8:33 pointed out, they're a good alternative to "snow boots" in the delightful northeast winters.
