Sex and the City will release its movie next year, and while Patricia Field and the rest of the crew are pulling a lot of looks from Spring ‘08 collections, they may still be stuck in time on some scenes.

Case in point?

The ones filming at Bryant Park this week.

As Gawker reported yesterday, there’s a big crowd in Bryant Park trying to recreate Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, where Samantha will get caught up with some fur protesters and probably get to ruin a million-dollar outfit in bright red paint.

Then this morning, a spy sent us images of the crew filming, along with the tip that “this scene is crucial to the plot!”

Okay, but does that mean SATC’s new movie will take place in September, 2007? Because the Tents change every season - they commission one artist per Fashion Week to decorate the famous canvas - and that print definitely comes from Fall.
