1. If you own a great, stylish coat, you can wear whatever you want underneath and always look pulled-together. This is an especially good rule for gallery openings, roof parties, open-air brunches, or events where you want to look good, but only stay for a few seconds. It also means you can be more lenient with footwear - sneakers look amazing with a coat like this.

2. If you’re short, you can bundle up without losing your figure. Look for a coat with a similar shape and a-line bottom!
