The "Please Hit On Me" Tote

Nov 27, 2007 @ 4:08pm

meet me tote.jpg We're still wretching from last month's hyped subway setup, where video blogger Patrick Moberg saw a cute girl on the subway - then told every newspaper and blog in New York about it.

Apparently, Urban Outfitters was just as annoyed, since their clever designers invented a bag to help you meet other cute, shy kids:

The "Introduce Yourself, Dammit!" tote.

Created for supermarket and shopping outings, the bag screams "WE HAVE NOT MET" in huge, crafty letters sure to brush up against any adorable guy on the subway, in the library, or at the French Fry station at Whole Foods.

The tote can also help you cut back on wasteful plastic bags, and maybe if you meet a cute guy while wearing it, you can sell your movie rights, too -

Although here's a memo for the subway crusher and his Australian girlfriend: We all saw On the Line with Lance Bass and Emmanuelle Chriqui, and it wasn't so amazing the first time.

Cute idea, but imagine the reality: every sleazy, crazy, or homeless guy would take the bait, not the men you would actually want to.

I edit because I love: "wretch" is a poor urchin. "Retch" is a synomym for puke.

aack. That's not what I thought when I purchased it (still awaiting my UO arrival). I just thought it was cute, something a cute, friendly, open person would use, and great for picking things up at the store (not people). I'm always on the lookout, coz store brand reusables are a missed opportunity to make something both functional and attractive. I disagree with the title: please hit on me. But now I'm worried. That's the last thing I want more of. Nice guys smile, the slimy ones hit on you. Maybe this bag will be going back. But maybe not. I still think it's cute.

it looks like a laptop case.. doesn't it? and a cheap one in fact.. if it's a laptop case that you want, then i'll def recommend a cuter, classier one, because the days of the boring black laptop brief case or laptop sleeve are OVER! Breathe a sigh of relief ladies that you can now carry your laptop in style.. Artfulwears.com has a number of great options for traveling with your laptop... i definitely recommend checking out the site for all the great options--- so you won't have some dirty guy drooling over you when you walk around town with the tote above!!

When I ride the subway, I carry a delightfully whimsical bag that reads, "LEAVE ME THE HELL ALONE."
